We started the next day hiking up Vesuvius--and thank God we did it in the morning! What a trek! But well worth it! We then went to Pompeii and Herculaneum with Rafael as our guide and it was absolutely fascinating. My daughter Caroline said that was her favorite activity since she's been in Italy.”
